The area around Arras, in France, was the scene of fierce battles in 1915. These battles saved the city of Arras from occupation but left the high ground, Vimy Ridge, in the hands of the enemy. In 1917 the Canadian Corps advancing north was able to capture and hold the strategically significant Vimy Ridge.

The tour visits the trenches, tunnels, military cemeteries, memorials and visitors center that commemorate the 1915 and 1917 battles.
