Lille to Armentières makes a 45 km recreational ride over flat ground.

• We meet at the Lille Europe ( Eurostar) station.The vehicle takes our luggage and we take possession of the bikes.
• The ride really starts at the Lille Citadel ( 17° century star fort, considered to be the Queen of Citadels) where we leave the city and follow the tow path along the Deule canal to Sainghin. From Herlies we discover the former German front line.
• We see German bunkers on Aubers Ridge where 3 battles took place in 1915. It is mostly remembered for the July 1916 attack on Fromelles. We visit the Australian Memorial Park, “The Cobber” , The Hitler bunker, VC Corner, Pheasant Wood
• The tour then takes us further to Armentières Cité Bonjean, a hospital city and know as "the nursery" behind our lines until it fell in German hands in April 1918. We visit the NZ Memorial to the Missing.
• We arrive @ La Howarderie by 5:20 PM for our evening meal and enjoy one night at the farmhouse B&B .
